Import New Clinic JIRA Stories
Purpose
JIRA is a valuable tool to track progress of all required work for a new clinic implementation. This articles goes through how the standard JIRA setup for new clinic implementations. If you will deviate from this standard, discuss with team lead/manager or ATP first.

The main New Clinic work item is created with the type of Epic in JIRA with a set of standard Stories under it.
- The New Clinic Set Up JIRA Epic should always be created and assigned to you to begin work.
- If a JIRA has not been created then create an Epic in Jira for the new clinic.
- If a JIRA does exist and it is not an Epic then change it to Epic.
- Ensure to create an Epic Name by going to the Edit button and entering one in.
- Ensure to create an Epic Name by going to the Edit button and entering one in.
- Review the CSV New Clinic Import for Jira -story.csv excel document.
All Stories must be imported into the Epic. -
After import, when a Story is deemed not required by the clinic (e.g., no client import required), follow the below steps:
a. Add N/A at the end of the JIRA title
b. Write a comment with reason why story is not required
c. Change JIRA status to Done with resolution of Cancelled - When there are other change requests required outside of setting up a new POS, create a new Story within the same Epic. The most common examples are:
- New simple or complex forms
- New distribution groups (standard order)

Import New Clinic JIRA Stories
Copy the following file: CSV New Clinic Import for JIRA - story.csv from the New Clinic folder (\\vch.ca\departments\PCAC_EMR\01 - PCCEMR\08-EMR Toolkits\08-03 New Or Update Clinic Toolkit\1-JIRA Request Instructions)
- Fill out the required fields in the CSV New Clinic Import for Jira excel document.
- Epic name: <name of the new clinic Epic>
- Issue Type: <Story>

Epic Link (name of EPIC): <name of the new clinic Epic>
- Summary: <name of the story>
- Assignee: <your email address>

Priority: <see below for examples>
- Save file (make sure to leave it as a CSV file)
- Log into Jira and select Issues dropdown
- Select Import Issues from CSV
- Click [Choose File] and select your CSV file from your computer
- Click [Next]
- Complete the Settings fields as follows:
- Complete the Map fields section as follows:
- In the Map values window, click Validate.
- If you did this correctly, you should see something like this.
- One validation is completed [Begin Import].
- When the import is complete, check the stories and ensure that each as been created.
- Change the status from Open to Analysis Ready for all Stories.
