Purpose
A site visit in the initial phases of the implementation is to assess if the network strength at the clinic would be optimal for Profile EMR. Any significant network issues should be handled before the implementation starts.
This also helps in assessing the floor plan of the clinic and hardware requirements. E.g., whether there is space for two monitors or a printer in the exam rooms, will new network drops be required for printers, etc.
Schedule Initial Site Visit
Note: The physical clinic address may be different from the POS address because some smaller clinics will use their main branch which is staffed more regularly (e.g., Parkgate Youth Clinic is only open once a week in the afternoon and they use the main North Shore Community Health Centre which is staffed all week).

My colleague and I would like to visit the site to document the clinic layout and existing hardware, as well as assess the network. This would help us to identify if additional hardware needs to be ordered and if the network strength at the clinic would be optimal for Profile EMR.
Depending on the number of rooms, please allocate 30 minutes per room including front desk.
Please provide the following information:

- If Profile EMR has never been used before at that site, test the following:
- Firewalls (try logging into Profile EMR Production and PARIS Production)
- Domains access from clinic sites to ensure that they can access EMR (and PARIS)
- Make a list of exam rooms and workstations and document on Performance Test Case - Room & Workstation Inventory tab
- Assess if any new network drops needed and printer or new monitors placement
- Test label printers (see Label Printers)
Observe Current State In-Person (if required)
There may be some unique workflows at the clinic that you would want to observe in person. If so, you want to do this at the same Initial Site Visit or another time.
In other cases, it may be beneficial to observe current state in person with clinic staff instead of a virtual meeting with the working group.

Report Requirements: Network WAN Utilization (past 6 months) and Network Device Inventory
Request Information: <Clinic Name> will be onboarded onto the VCH/PHSA Profile EMR system. We need a network review of the site to ensure their infrastructure is sufficient to run Profile EMR. The site address is <clinic address>. A report for the last 6 months between <clinic office hours +1hr before and after> should suffice.
If clinic is open 24hrs/day, analyst to consider asking for a report for BOTH 24hrs and the busiest times of the day.

- Schedule a meeting with SAs and Manager/Team Lead with the performance test run and network review findings to determine if the clinic will need a network upgrade before EMR implementation can begin. Performance test run may need to be re-run.
- Analyst to prepare number of concurrent users who will have Profile EMR at a time.
- Analyst to prepare number of net new user accounts being created in Profile EMR for this clinic implementation.
