Overview
The Wait List module is currently available for all clinics to use. This article outlines some of the important considerations that need to be reviewed prior to making changes to this module. Our vision for this feature was to create it in a manner that it would be able to be used globally. Therefore, all changes must be carefully analyzed based on impact to other clinics that are using the module.
Potential Change Requests
- Creating/Modifying Column Headers
- Creating a Filter
- Creating a Wait List Type
- Creating Duration based Filters
- Creating a Cancellation Reason
- Creating a Close Reason
Analysis
When you receive this type of request, you will need to schedule a meeting with the requestor to review and document the requirements of their request.
Considerations
Below are a list of considerations that should be conducted during analysis:
- Investigate which clinics are currently using Wait List
- Run a query to confirm which clinics have Wait List Entries
- Conduct Impact Analysis for all Clinic
- Consider contacting stakeholders that are currently using the Wait List Module to understand how this change would impact their clinic workflow
- Consider raising change request at Analyst Touch Point meeting to gather knowledge from other Team members who have deployed Wait List to other clinics in the past
- Conduct Performance Impact on change requested
- Consider if we created a new filter that the results that appear will show for all POS, the number of wait list entries in one filter view could impact performance. Users will see a delay in the time it takes to load this window.
- Consider if we do not set an end date to the wait list entry that appear and the number of wait list entries continues to grow. Will this have an impact on performance
- Clinical Workflow Review meeting with CSSE and Stan to ensure the change is universal and can be used by all clinics
