Problem
Users may experience a similar error popup when attempting to trigger a PARIS Update or save through the Client Registration form:
The error message will note which area is causing the problem. It can be one of the following areas, where bolded ones are the most at risk for exceeding its limit:
- Addresses
- Alternate IDs
- Alerts
- Contacts (Phone Numbers)
- Employee History
- Immunization History
- Languages
- Names
- Next-Of-Kins
- Referrals
This error popup signals that the client record could not be updated with information found in the PARIS application. The client record in Profile EMR cannot be synchronized with PARIS until this error is resolved.
Solution
There is no standard solution as each case, especially of different impacted areas, may be handled differently. Follow these general steps to arrive at the appropriate resolution:
- EMR Support to gather the following information from the reporter:
- PARIS ID
- Area of impact - this is found in the popup error message. In the provided example above, the area of impact is "Contact"
- EMR Support to request a review of the client's record by EMR, PARIS and CIS resources.
- Based on their findings, the next step will most likely be to ask for guidance or action by Health Records and/or Health Information Management.
- Once the client's record has been amended in the PARIS application, run a PARIS Update to confirm and update the client's record in Profile EMR.
