Once MSP claims are created, completed and submitted to MSP Teleplan, the fun begins. They must be reconciled.
Most claims will likely have been accepted and paid by MSP Teleplan, and for most of those no reconciliation will be required, but some may have been accepted but paid a different amount than was submitted and may require reconciliation. There will also likely be some claims that were rejected by MSP Teleplan and should be corrected and resubmitted.
In the main menu, click Financial and Reconciliation to display the Reconciliation screen.
On the Reconciliation screen, the default View is "Claim refusals C12 not resubmitted" but you may want to explore all the different Views.
The list of claims can be sorted by any of the columns, such as Clinician, Client, Type or Gap.
To scroll through the list of claims, use the Prev and Next buttons in the bottom centre of the screen.
Beneath the list of claims are the details of the selected claim, and to the right of that are the Remittance Details, including the clinician's MSP #, the Payee ID used for this claim, a summary of the claim issues and the MSP Explanatory Code.
In the Explanations tab at the top of the screen is a list of all the MSP Explanatory Codes of the currently displayed claims. Selecting one of those codes displays only the claims with that code. It may be easier to reconcile all claims with the same MSP Explanatory Code at once, and then move on to the claims with the next MSP Explanatory Code.

With the help of the MSP Explanatory Code, make the necessary corrections to each claim and then click the Resubmit button in the bottom centre of the screen.
If a claim will not be resubmitted, click the Write Off or Accept button. Your clinic may have a standard process to follow when writing off or accepting rejected claims.
Note: MSP Teleplan does not accept claims over 90 days old, so contact MSP if you feel it is necessary to submit such claims.
