Background
Internal resources may request for a headline without it being linked to a change request as a Standard Order. These SOs require Clinical Informatics review (with special exception), and is auto-approved if a CIS is the requester.
Prerequisite: Prepare the Headline with Clinical Informatics
Download template SO-CreateHeadline.msg found in the Resource File(s) section and sent it to CIS before continuing. In special cases, as discussed in huddle or with the manager/team lead, the SO Analyst or EMR SA can create the headline without CIS.
Deploy New Headline
Note: This only needs to be deployed to Production. Do not deploy to VTM unless instructed.
Once CIS has responded with the headline specifications, create a subtask for SO032 Implementation for EMR-XXXXX, where EMR-XXXXX is the JIRA ID. Assign it to yourself. Then, use the following steps to deploy the headline.
- Log in using a Sys Admin or Support Analyst role
- Go to Organization\Headline Manager
- Select New Icon (or use Ctrl+N)
- Based on the specifications in the email, enter the values into the headline editor.
Things to note when setting up the headline:- The Validity Type dropdown should be set, depending on the value of the Description Type:
- General = Admin
- Administrative = Admin
- Clinical = Clinician
- The Organisation dropdown should always be set to VCH/PHC EMR
- Headline visibility is controlled by roles. By ticking the top node (i.e. Administrative User, Clinical User, or Sys Admin), it will automatically check all subsequent roles belonging to that category
Example:
- The Validity Type dropdown should be set, depending on the value of the Description Type:
- Click OK to save and close. The Headline Manager should show the newly created headline. If the start date is today or in the past, there should be a dot indicator in the Current column. Example:
- Once the headline is active, it should appear upon next login for the selected role(s). If the headline is applied to the Support Analyst (or Sys Admin) role, validate by logging out and back in. Example:
