An Epic is a way to categorize Stories. You can link a story to only one Epic.
- An Epic is intended as a grouping for other issue types, in order to track progress toward an Epic of finite length being completed
- The intention of progress tracking implies that an Epic is less suitable as a “theme”, signifying “this kind of work, or that kind of work”
- The benefit is primarily the Epic Panel, which displays in the Backlog
- The option also exists to display Epics as a card in a Kanban Board, allowing a user to open the “container” and see a list of the issues in the Epic
